A Simple Running Log

Training for 6/15/18

I wound up taking another rest day today. Just felt sluggish and extra tired for whatever reason, and it didn’t feel like running would go well.

I hope I’m feeling more energetic tomorrow, because this weekend, I’ve got two 5Ks lined up, one at 3rd Wave Brewing tomorrow evening and then one in Rehoboth on Sunday morning.

The plan is to do 5 easy miles tomorrow morning, then run the 5K in the evening at a slightly faster pace to make tomorrow my long run day. I do 3rd Wave for the post-race beer, not the time. They had to push it back two weeks later than it’s been the last couple of years, so it bumped up against the Father’s Day 5K I’ve done the last several years too.

Sunday’s race is the first of five 5Ks I have to run to qualify for this year’s summer series, so I’d like to actually race that one. I don’t really have a goal time for it, just hoping to be able to maintain some kind of decent pace for the entire 3.1 miles.

Besides running, I think we’re spending some time at the beach with Clark’s family, and of course I’d like to see my dad sometime Sunday.

  1. 5ks at breweries are the best kind of 5ks.

    • Yep — even if you have a shitty race, there’s beer!

      • For some, the races are literally shitty.

      • Ha! Only if you do the dumb thing and drink the beer BEFORE the race.
