A Simple Running Log

Training for 1/15/15

Holy crap, 4.5 miles on clear pavement felt a million times harder today than 7 miles through slushy snow did yesterday. Stupid missing blood.

Per the post-donation instructions, I waited until it’d been at least 24 hours to do any “strenuous” exercise, and went out to do my run in the late afternoon. I knew it would be miserable, so I decided to do intervals of two minutes running, 30 seconds walking.

I could not wait for the end of those two minutes, every time! I felt a little better in the last mile, but still. I was really glad to get home. Since I had to run the timer anyway to know when to start each interval, I know the total time — it took me 42:23 to finish the 4.5-mile loop, a 9:25/mile average.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll feel a little less drained.
