Training for 6/11/14

Yesterday, I waited until the middle of the afternoon to do my strength training upstairs, when it was absolutely sweltering. I did ab exercises, push-ups, invisible chair-sitting and lifted with the adjustable dumbbells. I then went outside and sweated through an easy 3-miler on the road.

Today, I put off running until after work. I don’t know what the hell I did yesterday, but my quads are so freaking sore. It’d been awhile since I’d done the routine with the dumbbells, but I don’t remember them ever getting that sore before. Anyway, I knocked out an easy lap around the 5.5-mile loop. I felt OK once I got running. Now that I’ve been done for an hour though, they’re tightening up again.

  1. You’re freakin’ crazy! It was so nasty yesterday, ugh. I am having a hard time adjusting to this heat/humidity. It’s embarrassing, really. I think Jungle Jim will be a humbling experience. 😀

    • I’m not crazy, I’m just lazy! But my procrastination seems to be paying off. I’m feeling less and less like I want to die on these midday runs. Don’t know how that will help with trying to race a 5K though!
