Training for 4/5/13

Today was technically a rest day, but Tuesday was technically not and it turned into one, so I ran today.

Pepper and I did an easy 3-miler on the road, once I hauled my butt off the couch. I only had a couple hours left to work today to round out the week, so I wasn’t in a hurry.

It was a routine run. It rained all night, but it had moved on by the time we ran, and now it’s supposed to warm up. It’s should be in the mid-70s by the middle of next week, which I’m really looking forward to.

After work tonight, I intend to do some strength training, since I skipped it both scheduled times this week.

Tomorrow morning, I’m meeting Kara at Tuckahoe State Park for a trail run. I’ve got an easy 4-miler on the schedule. In the afternoon, Clark and I are going up to Baltimore with Ben and Hope for the O’s game. I really don’t care about baseball, but I have a feeling we’re going to have a good time anyway.

Sunday, I’m supposed to do a 1:45 long run, so I’ll probably do the 13.2-mile loop. The Martinsville race is in the afternoon, and there’s a lot of housework that needs to be done too.

Lately, Pepper has gotten in the habit of bullying the pillows on our couch. No matter where on the couch he wants to lie down, he’ll knock the pillows in the floor, just to show them who’s boss.

This morning, one of the pillows had finally had enough, and it fought back:

Poor Pep. On the bottom of the totem pole again.
